Prior to becoming the Dean of English Literature at Rider University in New Jersey, USA, Sei Woong Oh was a TOEFL® test taker just like you.
Sei used his scores for admissions purposes for both a Master’s and a Ph.D. program. He received a perfect score after taking practice tests in order to become familiar with the test format and types of questions. He later followed his career aspirations into the higher education industry, specifically focused on English literature.
Sei understands the importance of English language education and loves to share his passion for literary classics with his students.
As a study abroad student, Sei was able to improve upon his English skills further, achieving fluency in a Master’s Program in Texas. After graduating, he became an assistant professor and then later was promoted to the Dean of English Literature.
Sei’s advice for students thinking about studying abroad: “Outline your English learning goals first, before beginning your focused TOEFL test preparations. I would advise not to study with the examination score only in mind…focus on the ultimate goal: to enhance your English skills.”
